Hillingdon Inclusive Play Opportunities Project PDF Print E-mail

We are a funded by The National Lottery and can provide free play  opportunities to children that might have barriers to play, this includes:

  • Disadvantaged Children
  • Children with Additional Needs
  • Children of Asylum Seeking Families
  • Refugees
  • Travellers
  • Looked after Children
  • Young Carers
  • Children affected by Domestic Abuse

 

The HIPHOP project will increase inclusion and access to play provision and opportunities for all children and young people across the borough.

Our key objectives are to

  • Address attitudinal issues, parental concerns, workers nervousness,
  • Introduce supplementary equipment, staff training and extra support for children.
  • Deliver new free play session and integrate children into their local free play spaces

Year 1 (2008 - 2009)

  • Estimated over 3 year project 3240 children and young people
  • 1st Year- 5895 children and young people- over 80% increase
  • 1st Year- BME 49%
  • Sessions Run in 1st Year- 80
  • Sue Collinson- Studying for a Level 3 in Playwork
  • Steph Tchertoff- Studying for a Foundation Degree in Extended Community Playwork Practise
